After a long, exhilarating case concerning a construction site accident, our firm recovered a $3.2 million settlement on behalf of a client who had suffered serious injuries from falling on his work site. Our client filed suit after he fell several stories while working because of the lack of safety harnesses. While the defendant party tried to claim the accident was the fault of the worker himself, our team discovered evidence that implicated the General Contractor as being at fault for the accident and our client’s injuries.

At the time the suit was first filed, our attorneys argued that the supervisors at the construction site had neglected to equip our client with a safety harness that would have prevented him from falling and avoided the accident altogether. In response to our claim, the General Contractor (GC) on-site stated our client had actually been offered several safety options but declined to use them. According to the GC, our client was responsible for his own injuries because he had chosen against using the tools that would have prevented the accident.

Later on in the trial, our legal team discovered telling photos taken at the scene by police officers who responded to the accident because they believed a fatality had occurred. The photos revealed there was a severe lack of any safety devices on the worksite. This means that the General Contractor had lied in his recorded testimony about there being safety options offered to and declined by the plaintiff. Because of this evidence, the judge on the case was compelled to direct judgment against the defendant’s party. As soon as the verdict revealed the decision was in our client’s favor, the defense agreed to settle for $3.2 million, an amount favorable to our client’s situation concerning his losses.
