Tragedy struck this morning in lower Manhattan when a crane collapsed on Worth Street killing a bystander and injuring several others. Our prayers go out to the victims and their families.
Unfortunately this is not the first time that a crane has collapsed here in Manhattan causing death and profound injury. Very often the cause of a crane collapse is negligence in the maintenance and use of the crane and/or failures to follow basic safety rules and laws governing their use. These cranes are a common sight in our City and we , the public rely on the companies using them to do so safely. When they don’t the consequences are catastrophic.
If you or your loved one have been injured in a crane collapse, you have the right to bring a lawsuit against the responsible parties and obtain compensation for your injuries. It is important that you contact a lawyer right away to protect those rights. The insurance companies working for the crane companies start working for them the same day a crane collapse occurs. You need someone on your side with experience. Here at the Law Office of Richard Kenny we have that experience and can help. We have been helping people injured in crane collapses and construction accidents for many years and have obtained millions of dollars in compensation for them.
