This morning, tragedy struck in lower Manhattan when a huge construction crane collapsed near a worksite as workers tried to lower and secure it against rising winds. This killed a man sitting in a parked car that the crane fell on and injured three other people nearby. The injured people were hit with falling debris and two are listed in serious condition. Earlier today, a major construction crane collapsed on top of the Tappan Zee Bridge during rush hour. While no vehicle was directly hit by the crane, many cars were involved in accidents attempting to get out of the way. Rockland County Executive announced that three people were injured from these accidents.
