2021 Marks Deadliest Year for Traffic Fatalities in NYC Since 2014
In 2014, then-NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio announced his plans for "Vision Zero." Though the plan was ambitious and had good intentions, unfortunately, 2021 was the deadliest year for traffic fatalities since the inception of the program. In fact, New York City saw 273 people die in traffic crashes in 2021 alone. This is unacceptable. Fortunately, Mayor Eric Adams has re-committed to the program and will be taking aggressive action to put an end to traffic fatalities in NYC.[...]
